IMF chief calls for increased North African economic integration

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) encourages and supports further economic integration and cooperation between North African countries, IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn said Tuesday.
He was speaking at a joint press conference with the Moroccan Minister for Economy and Finance, Salaheddine Mezouar, in the country's capital of Rabat.
He also announced the holding of a meeting on this issue in Libya before the end of this year.
"The IMF always stands by those who try to boost and promote better organization of neighboring economies," said Strauss-Kahn while expressing his satisfaction with the cooperation between IMF and Morocco.
An international meeting on conditions for economic growth in Africa will be held in Tanzania in November, the IMF chief said.
