Senior Chinese official tells high-level judiciaries to uphold justice

Senior Chinese official Zhou Yongkang on Friday asked the country's judges and prosecutors to uphold justice and be selfless.
"Grassroots judges and prosecutors have earnestly served the people and selflessly done an arduous and trivial work," said Zhou while meeting six model grassroots judiciaries during a seminar here.
"They have made significant contribution to social stability and harmony," he said.
The country's law workers should learn from the models and carefully solve problems concerning people's interests so as to improve the rule by law, said Zhou, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The seminar, attended by high-level judiciaries, was held from Monday through Friday.
