California to host China-U.S. film festival in Nov.

Chinese and U.S. filmmakers will hold the 2008 China-U.S. Film Festival in November to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, the filmmakers announced at a joint press conference here Monday.
The festival is also seen as a way to further boost cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
The third and largest edition so far, the China-U.S. film festival this year will be held from Nov. 3 to Nov. 30 in Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Francisco and San Diego in the U.S. state of California.
Over 50 Chinese and U.S. films will be screened during the event, according to Su Yantao, president of Edi Media Inc, main organizers of the festival.
These will include Chinese films such as The Warlords, Gun of Mercy, Marriage Trap 2008, The Longest Night in Shanghai and Gua Sha.
Celebrities like famous Chinese actress Zhu Xijuan, producer and publisher of Hollywood blockbuster Superman -- Omar Kaczmarczk, and Emmy award winner Dino Herrmann attended the press conference.
The last two festivals held in Los Angeles were a huge success.
